General Election 2024

The 2024 General Election in Pakistan unfolded as a unique event marked by immediate allegations of electoral manipulation soon after polls closed and vote tabulation began. The orchestrated rigging tactics began to surface mere hours after polling concluded, as numerous presiding officers hurried to deliver their reports to the returning officers' (ROs) offices. It swiftly became public knowledge that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was making significant gains in the election. Presiding officers arrived armed with completed "Form 45," signed in the presence of multiple candidates' representatives and distributed in copies to each contender. The responsibility of the ROs was to verify and consolidate these reports into "Form 47," representing the constituency's outcome, ensuring transparency in the presence of all candidates.

However, concerns arose when the security apparatus, entrusted with safeguarding the electoral process, began exerting undue influence over the ROs and their premises. Candidates were abruptly removed from RO offices, signaling the beginning of coercive measures to dictate election outcomes. This interference severely compromised democratic norms and the integrity of public opinion. Consequently, under pressure, many ROs succumbed to issuing "Form 47" documents that bore no resemblance to the original "Form 45" submissions from the field.

In response to these troubling developments, we have compiled the submitted forms from various candidates for public and media scrutiny. A comparative analysis reveals significant disparities between the vote counts recorded on "Form 45" and the figures eventually endorsed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Discrepancies range from a few thousand to over seventy thousand votes in many instances, underscoring the urgent need for transparency and accountability in the electoral process. There are a few forms still missing as we could not get hold of them yet but we have only presented here those constituencies where we have 90 percent of more forms available.

The Form 45 presented here all have the signature and thumbprint of the presiding officer but may miss other minor information that the candidate could not receive.
